How does the Hi-Lift work as a winch?
With a steel or textile rope (4–6 mm, up to 1,500 kg) and a suitable anchor point (tree, second anchor vehicle, ground anchor) the Hi-Lift works as a manual 1,500 kg winch. You attach the lower end to the stuck vehicle and the upper end to a rope leading to the anchor. Each lever stroke = 5 cm of vehicle travel. It requires practice but is reliable where an electric winch would fail due to a flat battery.

Can it be used as a spreader?
Yes — with reversed mounting the Hi-Lift works as a manual hydraulic spreader. Used for straightening deformed sills, vehicle doors after minor accidents, and expedition rack frames. Commonly used by off-road rescue teams in vehicle recovery operations after a vehicle has left the road.

Is 130 mm enough for a standard car?
For typical off-road SUVs (Land Cruiser, Defender, Wrangler) with a minimum ground clearance of 220–280 mm — yes, with room to spare. For low-slung passenger cars, 130 mm may be too high — in that case you need our Hogert 1.5T aluminium low-profile 85 mm.

How long is the JBM warranty?

What if it rusts in use?
The JBM Hi-Lift has a painted and corrosion-protected surface. After intensive use in mud or water we recommend cleaning off dirt, lubricating the ratchet mechanism and checking the base plate. Corrosion not caused by use is covered by the 36-month warranty.

Can it lift a small tipper truck?
Yes — 3-tonne capacity covers small tipper trucks (Skoda 706, Volvo F88, IFA W50), agricultural machinery up to 3 t (tractors C-330, C-360, MF-3050, John Deere 3030–3050), agricultural tractors in standard 60–90 HP power classes. For vehicles above 3 t — our JBM 22T or FTools 6T pneumatic.
