How does a zinc finish differ from chrome?
Zinc is an electroplated protective layer — it stands up well to moisture and workshop chemicals and looks matt grey. Chrome is harder, shinier and easier to wipe clean. In strength the sockets are the same — the difference is the coating, not the steel.
What are E-Torx sockets for, and do I really need them?
E-Torx (an external star socket) appears in modern engines, gearboxes and exhaust systems — especially on German cars. A plain hex socket will not move such a bolt without damaging it. This set covers sizes E4 to E24.
What if I lose one socket?
