Why “intake” and not simply “output”?
Makers of piston compressors quote the air drawn in. At the outlet, under working pressure, you get less — that is the physics of compression and it applies to every brand. That is why the table above already includes the margin: compare it directly with the figure on the product page instead of converting yourself.

What the tank is actually for

The tank smooths demand peaks and keeps the motor from cutting in every few seconds — it does not replace output. A 200 l compressor rated 300 l/min gives up on an impact wrench sooner than an 88 l unit rated 646 l/min. For one bay, 90–100 l is a sensible start; for two, 180 l; for continuous work or sandblasting, 300 l.

8 or 12.5 bar?

8 bar covers most tools in car servicing. 12.5 bar is for truck tyres (inflated to 9–10 bar), for tools needing higher supply pressure, and for long pipe runs that lose pressure on the way.

230 V or 380 V?

Above roughly 600 l/min, 380 V is the sensible choice — the motor runs smoother and lasts longer. With no three-phase supply in the workshop, stay with 230 V models and accept a lower ceiling. The connection is always a job for a qualified electrician.
